Ms. Amy Purkey teaches at Bell-East Middle School in Martinsville, Indiana. When she was younger she attended Smith Elementary, Bell-East, and then Martinsville High School. She then attended Butler University to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Science Education. She decided on Butler because she had fallen in love with the campus. She is currently attending Indiana Weslayan University to receive her Masters. Ms. Purkey is presently teaching eighth grade general math and Algebra at Bell-East Middle School. She chose to teach math because she just really loves math. Amy Purkey helps out with the student council at Bell-East. She opted to do this because she wants to be involved with the school and help the community. “Work hard now and learn to follow directions,” is her advice to students about school.
