Grace Betzold’s Talent
Bell-East middle school seventh grader Grace Betzold is an extraordinary singer. To Grace, singing is not just a hobby, but her life. Grace first got interested in singing when she sang at church once when she was younger. Many members of her church told her and her family that she had a great voice and she should try singing at competitions. Grace has been participating in competitive singing contests since she was eight years old. Her ambition is to become a famous singer and competing in competitions is putting her on the right path. Grace has competed in many local contests, such as the school talent show, Morgan County’s got talent, the Fall Foliage talent show, and The Morgan County Fair contest. Also, she has been in faraway contests such as the American Idol Experience in Disney World. Although grace is only 13 years old, she has been asked to sing for United Way, a charity organization, and also been asked multiple times to sing at her church. Grace has not always had her talent easy. She says “Some people may say singing just comes naturally, but singers, just like basketball and football players, have to work on their confidence and always need to strive to perfect their technique”. Over the years Grace has had three different voice coaches and they have helped her tremendously. Bell-East is happy to see Grace succeed in her talent.
