Jessie Fraley
For Bell-East seventh grader, Jessie Fraley, swimming is not just a sport but also a passion that is a part of her daily life. Jessie started swimming at the YMCA at the age of two, and by the third grade, she was ready for competitive swimming. She is currently swimming club for Franklin Regional Swim Team, FRST. Practice has paid off for Jessie; she is ranked first in the state for the 200 backstroke, third in the state for the 50 and 100 backstroke. Jessie is also top five in the state for the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 1600 freestyle and the 400 IM. Jessie is inspired by Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin Jessie says,” I am inspired by Missy because both of our strongest strokes is the backstroke so that inspires me to be even better than I am now to be just like her”. There are many things that Jessie enjoys about swimming. She enjoys getting pushed to being the best she can be and she also loves being able to have a second family and a second home. During the season, Jessie practices for two hours, six to nine times a week, working harder each time to improve. Jessie is a dedicated, talented, and hardworking swimmer and tries her best at what she does.
