Bell-East Talented Teens
Bell-East Middle School seventh grader Emily Bennett is just one of the many people in Martinsville that is passionate about her talent: drawing. Emily took an interest in drawing in the fifth grade, but she started drawing more frequently in her early middle school years. “I started having a major interest in drawing in my art class. I thought that it was very enjoyable and it kept me busy in my free time,” she says; “My favorite thing to draw would have to be celebrities that inspire me or that I am interested in. I also enjoy drawing people who portray main characters in my favorite books.” Emily’s favorite thing about drawing is that it makes her focus on every aspect of what she is doing. As much as Emily enjoys spending time with her talent, she does not know if she wants it to be a part of her adulthood career. “If I keep myself committed to drawing and try to improve I will keep it as a lifelong hobby. Otherwise, drawing would probably not be part of my career” she says. Overall, Emily’s talent is what makes her special. She has her own way of expressing herself and when she does express herself; it just might come out a masterpiece.
